How the Underwater drogue chute system generates electricity.

The drogue chute can be let out many miles generation power all the way.  At the end of the cable length the drogue chute is pulled back toward the ship in a low drag configuration.

The important part of the design is the head of the drogue chute where the central rope is brought up toward the ship with respect to the outer part of the chute. This flexible chute would have to ensure the ropes do not get tangled during transitions. Also the drag of the collapsed chute is not as stream lined as the solid chute – shown next.
